History

Perhaps inspired by the aesthetics of his father’s millstones, young Andrea Palladio grew into a stonemason, a sculptor and a renowned architect. His fame blossomed in late Renaissance Italy, but was not contained by time or borders. Palladianism spread to all quarters of the world and is still valued as the “quintessence of high Renaissance, calm and harmony.”

Palladio, the man, stood on the five-hundred year old wisdom of the Roman architect Vitruvius. A half millennium later, Palladio Mouldings, the company, continues to embrace those eternal principles and proportions.

The future of interior architecture was moulded in the hands of the past.

Manufacturing

Our current clientele could tell prospective patrons that each Palladio product is always completed within specifications, inspected for quality and appropriately packaged for shipment. By employing these additional techniques, Palladio creates standards beyond industry benchmarks:

  • Accurate water-to-plaster ratio: Only the exact amount of each will create a piece that resists cracking and chalkiness while showcasing crisp, striking details.

  • Hand-sculpting: All Palladio products are cast from one-of-a-kind artworks created by our accredited sculptors. 3D-printed replicas cloned from internet recipes are forbidden.

  • CAD technology: Our engineering department utilize the latest CAD software to ensure accurate proportions, pattern repetition and scaling.

Installation

Plaster trim can be delicate to handle, but when installed properly, it is as rigid as the walls on which it’s mounted.

To further ensure a piece maintains its integrity, we strongly suggest having a skilled plasterer professionally install all of our products.

Palladio’s plaster mouldings have been invested in structures as disparate as private residences, public buildings, banks, hotels and theatres.
